I run Plantflix, an online shop for indoor gardening seeds and supplies. As any business owner knows, the ups in downs in business are constant.
Tell me if this sounds familiar to you: it's September, business is slow, you're not sure if it's just you, or if other, similar businesses are experiencing the same? I've personally found the hardest part of running my business is the unknown, and while analytics platforms can help to an extent, it doesn't inform you about seasonal or economic factors that might affect your business.
Some of the best "aha" moments I've had was when talking with fellow business owners and hearing if business is slow or busy for them, even if they're in an entirely different industry. It gives you a finger on the pulse, an idea of whether there's an economic boom or slowdown, which can inform decisions like ad spend or when to release a new product.
But we don't all have that big community to talk to. So that's where the idea for a Weekly Gut Check came about. It's a place for business owners to come together for an anonymous survey every week just to review their week, and bring that all together into a Sunday report: the Gut Digest.
This is a brand new thing, we're community driven and starting small. Our first Gut Check survey was sent out on February 13!Have any questions or just some thoughts you'd like to share? Reach me at biz.gutcheck@gmail.com and join the newsletter by entering your email below!d
